Updated: Priority Registration for Oct/Nov 2021 RES Exams

Did you know that CEA has decided to conduct an additional Real Estate Salesperson (RES) examination this year, on a one-off basis, given the reduced examination capacity to-date due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

On top of that, CEA will offer a one-time priority registration for either of the remaining RES examination runs this year to candidates who indicated their interest early on 12 July 2021, when the registration window for the August 2021 RES examination opened.

According to an email received by such priority candidates, "CEA has reviewed the overall situation and decided to conduct an additional Real Estate Salesperson (RES) examination this year, on a one-off basis, given the reduced examination capacity to-date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As you had indicated your interest early on 12 July 2021 when the registration window for the August 2021 RES examination opened, we are pleased to offer you a one-time priority registration for either of the remaining RES examination runs this year. These will be held on 30 and 31 October 2021, and 13 and 14 November 2021."

For these priority candidates who want to accept the priority registration for the October or November 2021 RES examination, they will need to complete an online form (FormSG) and submit their choice of the examination date and slot. The FormSG link will only be activated from 1 September 2021, 9am to 2 September 2021, 6pm.

Once they have indicated their choice, RELC will contact them to complete Stage 2 of the registration process later in September 2021.

If you are worried that your course certificate has expired or is expiring before the October/November 2021 examination, its validity period will be auto-extended to allow you to attempt the examination. No further action is required from you.

This information is corroborated by the announcement on RELC's website, which states that "CEA has decided to conduct an additional RES Examination on 13 and 14 November 2021, on a one-off basis, given the reduced examination capacity to-date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.".

Specifically, the total capacity for the October and November 2021 RES Examinations is 6,000 candidates, up from 3,000 candidates in the August 2021 RES Examination.

The registration for the October and November 2021 RES Examinations will be conducted at the same time. CEA will provide more details on the application and registration for these examinations at a later date.

Update (29 Sep 2021)!

For candidates who have previously applied for priority registration of the October or November 2021 RES examination, some have already received the follow-up email from RELC to:

  1. Complete their registration (ie Make payment)

  2. Upload softcopy of the RES Course Completion certificate and local highest education certificate

  3. Await confirmation email.

As this email is only sent to candidates who're already in the "priority queue", RELC re-emphasizes that candidates need not rush to register. This window is not first come first serve.

"This email contains instructions for registration for the October 2021 Real Estate Salesperson (RES) examination. Registration can be completed anytime from 29 September 2021 to 1 October 2021, 6:00 pm. There is no need to rush to complete the registration as you have already been given a provisional examination seat, which will be confirmed once you have successfully completed the registration process within the registration period."
