Important info for Jun 2021 Exams

Did you know that registration for the Feb 2021 RES examinations were suspended on the first day due to technical difficulties?

According to a statement on RELC's website, "Due to technical issues encountered by candidates trying to register for the February 2021 RES examination on SEAMEO RELC’s website, CEA has decided to suspend the registration for the examination at 3:30pm today (4 Jan 2021). CEA and SEAMEO RELC are currently looking into the issues. Registration will resume on 6 Jan 2021, 9am. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused."

A few days after, on 7 Jan 2021, RELC posted "RELC deeply regret(s) the inconvenience caused to affected applicants and will continue to work closely with the Council for Estate Agencies to ensure a smoother registration experience for applicants in future."

Are you still intending to take your RES examination in 2021? Here are some important information from the RELC website:

  • CEA will not be adding more seats but will continue to run the examination three times a year, as long as the COVID-19 situation permits

  • Staggered opening for Day 1 registration with a 2-hours interval (i.e. AM slots registration starts from 9am and PM slots registration starts at 11 am)

  • No further priority will be given as we have made available sufficient exam seats to cater to all the February 2020 RES exam candidates in the September, October and November 2020 RES examinations

  • Registration will be open to all candidates on a first-come-first-served basis

  • For the RES examinations in 2021, with safe management measures in place, the capacity per examination will be about 2,400 candidates spread out in small rooms of not more than 50 persons each

  • RELC will work towards exploring alternate modes of conducting the RES examination such as conducting computer-based examinations in which candidates sit for the RES examination at designated location(s)
